Officially! I am so thrilled! I cannot believe I am going to have a SON! I am so so happy! What a blessing! I will have three boys in my life! Nate, Boozer, and our baby! I just want to scream! Of course Nate is beyond excited!
So to start the story, I have to say that when I went in to have my monthly doctors visit, he told me the sonogram ladies were being crazy and putting their foots down. They instructed ALL doctors in the office to not be sending women to have sonograms until they are 22 weeks along to check for the gender and to make sure all was well. 22 weeks...Are you kidding me? My doctor is awesome and he was like I can probably get you back there sooner but you can't tell anyone and he said 20 weeks was probably the very best he could do. He doesn't schedule the appointments so it was between me and the sonogram secretary! Dangit. Still 20 weeks felt way too long for me. The only reason you get to go in for more sonograms and early would be if something was wrong. Well I thank the Lord nothing is wrong so I decided I would do 22 weeks like all the other women and that sonogram will come October 16 (my mom's birthday)!
Anyway, we went to Vegas this past weekend for Nathan's birthday. We had some free flights just waiting to be used and I figured this was a great time to go do something because I have been feeling wonderful! So Meagan and Curtis decided to go with us and we just booked it up! I got the bright idea that I would just have my sonogram in Vegas because I was going to do this in Dallas anyway way later in my pregnancy to see what the baby looked like! Like 30 weeks along. Anyway, the place I found in Dallas has a location in Vegas and so I called them and made an appointment for the weekend we were there! They guarantee they can find the gender from 16 weeks on or it's FREE! They just have a little location in Vegas in a very nice building and it's decorated so so cute! You go into a room and can bring everyone with you and they sit on a couch and can watch the baby on a big screen TV. So cool. So off we all go! The lady found the gender within like 2 seconds but she kept us waiting and waiting until she told us. My heart was beating so fast I thought it was going to bust! I was so antsy! Of course I was crying and so was Meagan. Meagan was just as nervous as me and she said she felt like she was the one having a baby! That's how close we are. She would feel like that! HAHA! I was so glad she was along with me for this experience! She made it so exciting for me and her concern and excitement meant a lot to me!
The night before the sonogram we all made bets on what we thought the gender was. We had 3 saying boy and 3 saying girl. Me and Cindy and Curtis all said BOY and Nate and Meagan and Dee all said GIRL. Well I thought it was a girl up until a week before this trip and all the sudden I just knew it was a boy. Well Nate bet a girl because he said his luck in Vegas was not going too well so if he bet on a girl it would really be a boy. He didn't tell us this until after we found out it was a boy. Then he let us in on his secret! However, he was getting used to the idea of having a girl and said he thought it would be cool. Two Kenley's! He said he would take 10 of me! Brave man. Anyway, mom and dad back at home had their bets wagered too. Dad said boy ALL along. Of course we all know mom was saying girl and already had a nickname for her! "Bunny" We will just save all that girl stuff people bought me for the next little one that comes along. Girl or boy I don't even care, I just love being pregnant and I love my baby! He is quite the character I need to add. He was doing a longhorn sign and a peace sign and hiding his face! He is so funny! I know it was all random, the signs he was throwing up, but still, he is so much FUN!
Everyone keeps asking me what I will do with a boy. I am not kidding about 7 people have asked me ohhhh Kenley. What will you do with a boy? Answer is...I don't know but I will figure it out! I know one thing, my baby boy will be stylin and profilin. And my baby boy will always know how much I love him! I think he might be spoiled!
I guess Nate's luck wasn't all he hoped it would be in Vegas even though that guy always has the best of luck. I don't know what it is with him but he is always lucky! Well as we were about to board the plane on the way back to Amarillo he said he rubbed my belly (which I don't remember because he does this every two seconds) and then went and played Wheel of Fortune. Well he won 400 bucks! I was like well good gosh! Who does that? SO he cashed it out and we went and got on the plane! He said it was because he rubbed the belly. I thought that was so cute! I am so glad Nate is going to be a daddy and can't wait to see what the future holds for all of us! Thank you Lord!
Here are some pictures of our little prince!
HE SHOWED US A LONGHORN SIGN FIRST THING. WE GOT THE PICTURE JUST IN TIME!
